Press Play Gaming Presents: 2022 Indie Games Of The Year Extravaganza!
It’s here. 2022. December. GAME OF THE YEAR SEASON. How exciting.
As is tradition, there is no tradition of how GOTY stuff works here at Press Play Gaming. Frankly, I just make it up as I go. It’s my blog, I do what I want and all that.
This year, we are posting a new post EVERY DAY OF DECEMBER highlighting a bunch of amazing indie games you definitely need to try.
Thing is, you already know all about Elden Ring, God of War Ragnarok, Horizon Forbidden West and all the rest. This here? I formally guarantee* you’ve never even heard of at least seven of the games I’ll be bringing to your attention through the course of the month (*probably). And every single one of them is worth your time.
I’ve spent all year, from January 1st, collecting and collating a huge list of cool looking indie games. This list has been further refined to serve you THE VERY BEST of what the indie world has to offer. Which was extremely difficult - there are metric tons of indie games sitting just outside the wider world’s purview simply waiting to be discovered.
Games in this coverage range from Dec 1st 2021 through to Dec 1st 2022.
Disclosure time: These games are not all of the good games out there; they are simply the ones I myself have and would play myself. There’s plenty out there that are fantastic, just not for me.
Second disclosure: I have not finished all of the games in all of these categories. I haven’t even started many of them! But based on extensive* research on these games and the public response to them, I simply believe they should be in front of your eyeballs for you to at minimum consider a wishlist, or at maximum shower with money, praise and time.
